The Clark service station on Olive is being used. Invitations to Bid were
sent out to four vendors this year, however, only Clark returned a bid. Clark Refining &
Marketing proposes that the City pay the pump price less our tax exemption and an
additional discount of .02 cents per gallon. The current pump price is 1.079 per gallon
(which is the same price as last year). Our tax exemption (18.3 cents per gallon)
reduces this to 89.6 cents per gallon. The Central Garage estimates the Police
Department's usage for the 98-99 year to be around 25,000 gallons for an annual
estimated cost of $22,400.00. The credit card system worked out very well this past
year. Mr. Ollendorff recommends accepting Clark's proposal and to continue using
their system.
