Centennial Commons needs some advertising. There are 1,000 members <br />out of a population of 37,000. Its deficit presently shows $500,000. <br /> Do not allocate additional funds from the Economic Development Sales Tax <br />to the General Fund. <br /> Join the County Library system. <br /> Have public financials publicized quarterly. <br /> Make it clearer that proposed cut-backs for Community Center is not <br />perceived as cut-backs for Centennial Commons. <br /> Major mistake if City uses St. Louis County for inspections. He feels having <br />the City do inspections is as important as having the Police and Fire <br />departments. <br /> Addressed the City Attorney to make sure real estate titles are transferred <br />upon death and not just passed down generations without title change. <br /> Use monetary penalties for violations. <br /> What are the City’s criteria for evaluating the Police and Fire Departments? <br />Anthony Perkins, 1118 Wilson Ave. <br />Mr. Perkins stated it is the question of when it will flood again and asked the Council <br />to do the right thing. <br />M. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Mr. Price provided Councilmembers a handout of Strategic Goals in relationship with <br />Strategic Activities. He felt these goals go hand and hand with the budget. The five <br />strategic goals Mr. Price listed were: <br />1. Commercial & Retail Development <br /> Projects at North & South at Olive, I-170 & Olive, Kingsland Walk, TIF <br />District <br /> Olive design specifications <br /> Promote development of old Value City property <br />2. Housing and Development that strengthens neighborhoods & encourages <br />growth <br /> Northeast Ward 3 corridor - Green Development project <br /> Support bond issue for School District <br /> Establish EMT/Firefighter/Police programs at high school <br /> Establish joint promotion “Destination U-City” campaign with school <br />district & citizens <br /> Create re-cycling program with City, Businesses and Schools <br /> Increase participation in the Police Focus Group <br /> Implement Sold on U-City Day and increase participation in Crime <br />Night Out <br /> Make citizens aware of CID/NID <br /> Increase citizens’ awareness of home weatherization programs with St. <br />Louis – Community Action Agency <br /> Increase citizen’ awareness of services offered through the Urban <br />League <br />3. Financial Stability and Long Term Vitality <br /> Review health insurance plans for best options <br /> Improve fleet management and cost <br /> Established new accounting system <br /> <br />
