The City has again contracted with Top Care, Inc., for a truck,
leaf vacuum, operator and necessary tools for leaf vacuuming at a cost of $97.00 an hour. This company
has done excellent work for the City in the past. Council approval is requested since the work may
exceed $5,000 which is the limit of City Manager authority. Budgeted amount for this work is $8,000.

Fire Department Ladder Truck Repairs (#2). Approval was requested to pay Wiese Planning & Engin-
eering, Inc., $8,126.48 for rebuilding and replacing the stabilizer cylinders in the Fire Department aerial
ladder truck. The vehicle was taken in to repair a major oil leak which was more serious and costly than
expected. Once the vehicle was disassembled, it would not have been feasible to take bids or seek other
repair facilities. Prices and quantities of parts and labor seem proper for the extent of work involved.

Site Plan Extension - Precision Tool (#3). Approval was recommended of a one-year extension to Sep-
tember, 1997, for the Precision Tool project on Vernon at Kingsland. The delay was due to the long
time period required to work out all of the tax abatement and City support issues. Construction will be-
gin this month.
