Regular meeting <br />August 8, 2005 <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA # 5 – Telecommunications Upgrade for City Hall and Remote Locations <br /> <br />Recommended acceptance of a proposal for a telecommunications upgrade for City <br />Hall and remote locations. Two major items are needed: first would be a new system <br />for new recreational facility in Centennial Commons and simultaneously a major <br />upgrade of City Hall, City wide telecom system. Most of the money was available from <br />last year’s budget held over and there are adequate funds in this year’s budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe made a motion to approve and Ms. Brot seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe said that since we have our new IT coordinator recommending this, he felt <br />that it was apropos at this time to go along with her recommendation. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot echoed Councilman’s Sharpe Jr.’s comment. It is so darn complicated and if <br />the City Manager recommended this I would follow his advice. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA # 6 – Conditional Site Plan – 7330 Olive <br /> <br />This Site Plan was the former home of Charter. It was purchased by Carol Mitchell for <br />Kings Sanctuary and Outreach Ministry. Mr. Ollendorff explained that Ms. Mitchell has <br />greatly improved every property she has owned in University City. They have turned <br />out to be assets to the community. It does meet all of the provisions of City ordinances <br />but mainly recommend it because of its proprietor. <br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST TO SPEAK: <br />Carol Mitchell, 848 Kingsland Ave, came to represent her request for the site. She <br />talked of improving the land around the church and agreed to improve the signage. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt requested that approval be granted on condition of signage approval. The <br />condition for approval would be to make the church’s sign more attractive. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot commended Ms. Mitchell for all her work for others. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe complimented Ms. Mitchell for being an outstanding teacher. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt made a motion to approve with signage condition and Mr. Sharpe <br />seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />
