<br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert stated the ordinance clearly states that liquor license could be <br />awarded to fully developed grocery stores or pharmaceuticals. She stated it is a <br />small store front and could not possibly offer fresh meats and everything that a <br />fully developed grocery store has. She encouraged Council to vote it down as it <br />would not meet criteria in the City’s ordinance. <br /> <br />Vadilal Ghagat, 11334 Brier Hall, Maryland Heights <br />Mr. Ghagat stated that his store would be clean and package liquor would only <br />be a small amount of his total sales. <br /> <br />Mr. Price’s motion was seconded by Mr. Sharpe to postpone a vote until the <br />August 31, 2009, Council meeting and was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />4. <br />Ranoosh Middle Eastern Cuisine & Hookah Bar at 65-1 Delmar asked to expand <br />his liquor license to include Sunday liquor sales. Mr. Price moved for approval, <br />seconded by Mr. Crow and was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />5. <br />Medical Contract for a medical director for the Fire Department. Fire Chief <br /> <br />Olshwanger recommended Missouri Baptist because it has the personnel, <br />training and commitment to provide the best medical direction. A motion by Mr. <br />Sharpe to authorize the City Manager to execute the Dispatch Agreement, <br />seconded by Mr. Price and was approved unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci asked if the Fire Department has the authority to contract on behalf of <br />the City. She asked if they were the appropriate party. Ms. Ricci stated that <br />Attachment E was not referenced in the agreement. This agreement is an <br />insurance obligation and she inquired as to the cost of that insurance. City <br />Manager Julie Feier stated that the review was handled by Mr. Paul Martin and <br /> <br />she is required to be the signature but it is the fire department that will have the <br />relationship with the hospital. She stated there will not be any changes or <br />increase in the City’s insurance, but the City could incur some costs of medical <br />supplies that may be required. <br /> <br /> <br />6. <br />Dispatch Contract with a Fire/EMS Dispatch Center was recommended in order <br />to have a professional dispatch center with checks and balances. Mr. Wagner <br />moved for approval of the Dispatch Contract, seconded by Mr. Price and was <br />approved unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Crow asked if this contract was budgeted for and Ms. Feier stated that it was <br />exactly the amount budgeted, $77,000 for each of three years. <br /> <br />The Council unanimously approved entering into a contract for central fire <br />department dispatching. <br /> <br />7. <br />Appointments to Olive Joint Redevelopment Task Force Plan. <br />The City Manager was looking at setting up an eight member task force, four <br />members from each City, University City and Olivette. The four members would <br />consist of one Councilmember, one Plan Commission member and two citizens. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
