enough to do. Ms. Jensen pointed out that the commissioners do not volunteer
to be on the Boards to get a dinner or a gift.

Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel
Ms. Glickert stated that as a member of the Historical Society she did not think it
would be a good idea to combine the Boards and Commissions with the auction
of the Lions. She felt the auction of the Lions should be available to everyone.
Ms. Glickert said that satisfaction comes from volunteering, not to get a dinner.
She suggested a pot luck dinner would be nice.

Ms. Feier stated that the plan for the celebration would be open to the public.
She said that they were not talking of a dinner but more or less as desserts. The
money would be used for invitations being sent to the commission members.

Mr. Price motioned to follow Mr. Sharpe’s lead and obtain donations from local
businesses for a recognition event. After obtaining this, Ms. Feier can come
back to the Council and give an accounting of how much additional money it
would take to host this event.

Mr. Wagner asked Ms. Feier what the estimate for the Lion’s Party was and she

stated that the committee had originally put together a budget of around $8,000.
She stated that they had submitted for a grant. Since they did not receive the
grant and unless they have some financial support, they were under no
requirement to have a party. Mr. Wagner stated that he would like to move
forward with Mr. Sharpe’s idea but felt the Council should have some idea of

what is being asked for instead of just a blank check. He suggested the City
Manager downsize the original party. The City Manager stated she would come
back with more definite costs by the next Council meeting.

Mr. Sharpe rescinded his and Mr. Price’s motion until the Council receives some

information as to the cost and then Council can make a decision as how to
approach.

J.
