Invitations to bid on furnishing 200 street trees were sent <br />to five nurseries, with the following results: <br /> <br />Baxter Farms and Nurseries <br />Frisella Nurseries <br />Waldbart Nurseries <br /> <br />$19,525 <br />$17,800 <br />$13,970 <br /> <br />Acceptance of the low bid of $13,970 fi'om Waldbart Nurseries was recommended. The State Conserva- <br />tion Department, through its Branch Out Missouri program will provide cost-share assistance in the <br />amount of $7,740; therefore, University City's share will be $6,230. <br /> <br />Relocation of Primary Conduit and Switchgear from Parking Lot #Two (#5). Invitations to bid on this <br />project were sent to five companies, with the following response: <br /> <br />Sachs Electric Company <br />Perkins Contracting Company <br /> <br />$34,100 <br />$15,820 <br /> <br />Funding is from the bond issue. Acceptance of Perkins Contracting Company' s low bid of $15,820 was <br />recommended. <br /> <br />Tree Purchase and Planting (#6). Invitations to bid on furnishing and planting 552 plants, shrubs, and <br />trees in the Civic Plaza area were sent to four nurseries, with the following response: <br /> <br />Frisella Nurseries <br />Waldbart Nurseries <br /> <br />$7,308.00 <br />$6,916.20 <br /> <br />Bons issue money set aside for this purpose was $8,000. It was recommended that the contract go to <br />Waltbart Nurseries for their low bid of $6,916.20. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the Consent Calendar. Mr. Schoomer seconded, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - REZONING 514-518 NORTH AND SOUTH <br /> <br />The City Manager said a public hearing was set for this time and place to hear comments on the proposal <br />to fezone 514-518 North and South from "SR" Single Family to "PD" Planned Development. He said <br />the Comprehensive Plan calls for rezoning to encourage development in this block of high-quality condos <br />and apartments. He concurred with the Plan Commission's recommendation to approve. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams opened the public hearing at 7:39 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Rossel, 7407 Teasdale, said if apartments are built at 500-518 North and South, it may be <br />necessary to build new schools at a cost much greater than the selling price of those that were sold in <br /> <br /> <br />
