Session 1679, Minutes
September 30, 1996

Page 4

the last 10-15 years. Also, some time ago he was employed by the proposed developer, who still owed
him money, and consequently questioned his integrity. In addition, he felt some of the work done by the
developer was left unfinished and was not of the highest quality

Ms. Chdssy Paterson, 511 N. Central, submitted a petition signed by residents in the area of 500 North
and South. She said they received no notice of the Plan Commission meeting when this was considered;
the developer provided no information to them; the Plan Commission could not have acted with the full
and complete information required to approve such a proposal; and the residents object to the proposed
rezoning of 514-518 North and South as being incompatible with the character of the surrounding single-
family neighborhood.

There were no other requests to speak, and Mayor Adams closed the public hearing at 7:44 p.m.

PUBLIC HEARING - HARRISON STREET VACATION

The City Manager said a public heating was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. this date and place to hear any com-
ments on the proposed vacating of excess Harrison Avenue right-of-way (west 40 feet between Wayne
and Lynn). Following the public heating, a bill may be requested to accomplish this vacation. The adja-
cent owners may then claim the property.

Mayor Adams opened the public hearing at 7:45 p.m.

Rev. Alfred Jones, 7602 Wayne, said he has been maintaining most of the property in question for some
years now, and he hoped the City could vacate it in his favor since it is not needed for street purposes,
and it would add to his lot.

Mr. Wagner asked the size and shape of this property. Mr. Ollendorff said it is 40 feet wide and about
130 feet long.

Mayor Adams closed the public hearing at 7:48 p.m.

PUBLIC HEARING - VACATING MARILYN LANE NORTH OF WILSON

The City Manager said a public hearing was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. this date and place to hear com-
ments on the proposed vacating of the last piece of Marilyn Lane, which is half of the original right-of-
way adjacent to 7335 Marilyn. It has no public value and is being used as a private drive. Following
the public hearing, a bill may be requested to vacate this property, so the adjacent owner may claim it.

Mayor Adams opened the public hearing at 7:49 o.m

Mr. Joseph Jackson, 7335 Marilyn Lane, said he thought this parcel was vacated to him 12 years ago.
Mr. Ollendorff said he also thought it was vacated, but the records did not show that.
