It was recommended that a public hearing be <br />set for 7:30 p.m. September 30, 1996, to hear and consider comments on the adjacent owner's request <br />that the City vacate excess Harrison fight-of-way (40 feet on the west side between Wayne and Lynn). <br />After the public hearing, Council may adopt an ordinance vacating the excess. No other requests have <br />been received to vacate other portions of Harrison where fight-of-way is not needed for public use. <br /> <br />Setting Public Heating - Vacating Marilyn Lane at Wilson (#2). It was recommended that a public hear- <br />hag be set for 7:30 p.m. September 30, 1996, to consider comments on the proposed vacating of the re- <br />maining short section of Marilyn Lane north of Wilson. This street was vacated many years ago except <br />for a 30 x 60 foot segment adjacent to 7335 Marilyn. It is usable only by the private residents at this <br />location and has no public value. <br /> <br />Conditional Use Extension - 1226 North & South (#3). A six month extension for the conditional use <br />permit allowing church use at 1226 North and South was recommended. All conditions would remain <br />as approved by the Council. <br /> <br />Picnic Liquor License - Loop Festival (#4). Approval was recommended of the annual picnic liquor li- <br />cense for the University City Loop Community Foundation during their annual event October 4-6, 1996. <br />Alcoholic beverage sales at this event for the past several years have been well controlled and caused <br />no police problems. <br /> <br />Setting Public Hearing - Zoning for Day Care Center (#5). It was recommended that a public hearing <br />be set for 7:30 p.m. September 30, 1996, to consider comments on amending the Zoning Code to add <br />child day care center in the "IC" Industrial Commercial District as a conditional use. The Plan Commis- <br />sion unanimously recommends this change, which is consistent with the most recent drat~ of the pro- <br />posed Zoning Code. The text change was requested in conjunction with a proposed child care center <br />on Kingsland. <br /> <br />Rehabilitation of Leland Alley, Clemens to Loop North (#6). Bid proposals for this project were re- <br />ceived as follows: <br /> <br />Williams Concrete Co., Inc. (minority owned) <br />Midwest Mudjacking & Construction, Inc. <br />J. M. Marschuetz Construction Co. <br />Engineer's estimate <br /> <br />$90,674.00 <br />$92,315.00 <br />$98,961.10 <br />$79,500.00 <br /> <br />This project will be funded by Community Development Block Grant funds for $86,000, with the re- <br />maining amount coming from the General Fund. Acceptance of Williams Concrete Co., Inc.'s bid of <br />$90,674 was recommended. <br /> <br />Reconstruction of Donne Alley from Warder to Delmar (#7).
