Regular meeting <br />November 21, 2005 <br /> <br />suggested a bus for transportation be available for the senior citizens of University City <br />to increase their participation. She felt University City could do a lot more in attracting <br />their own residents before opening to the outside. <br /> <br />Stephan Glickert, 7750 Blackberry <br />Mr. Glickert said that he has had experience as being a life long resident and also <br />having worked for the pool for a period of time. He said that when it was opened to the <br />public, upkeep problems existed, there was a shortage of lockers and pool rules were <br />hard to maintain. Safety and cleanliness became the major problems. <br /> <br />Mary Ann Zaggy, 6303 McPherson Ave. <br />Ms. Zaggy related her past experience working at pool similar to Heman Park pool and <br />the problems that existed when the pool was opened to the public. She said there are <br />other ways of making money if that is what the real intent is for. In addressing City <br />Manager’s statement of being racist, Ms. Zaggy said that was crazy as residents have <br />chosen to live in University City because of its diversity. <br /> <br />Edward McCarthy, 7101 Princeton Ave. <br />Mr. McCarthy agreed with Mr. Ollendorff and said that there is racial connotation. <br /> <br />Les Palmer, 7507 Washington <br />Mr. Palmer felt that pool attendance in future years cannot be known. He felt with a little <br />effort & promotion could increase pool attendance without non-resident access <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch motioned to table until further discussions with residents and staff can take <br />place. The motion was seconded by Mr. Brot and was unanimously agreed upon. <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #4 – conditional Use 560 Trinity Private School <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff agreed with the Plan Commission to approve the use for a private school <br />used by Washington University. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner motioned for approval, which was seconded by Ms. Brot. The motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />nd <br />AGENDA ITEM #5 – Conditional Use 1481 82 Street – Day Care <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff concurred with the Plan Commission to allow a day care center at the <br />New City Fellowship School/Church. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch motioned for approval and was seconded by Mr. Sharpe Jr. The motion <br />was unanimously approved. <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />
