Please <br />rsvp no later than Monday, December 21 to Deanna Townson at 505-8531 or <br />dtownson@ucitymo.org. <br />Green Practices Committee <br />The is looking for residents who could serve on <br />subcommittees to help develop goals and actions for the City’s Sustainability Plan. <br />They are seeking assistance from residents who may have expertise or serious interest <br />in 1) Land Use-Open Spaces-Parks, 2) Transportation-Mobility, 3) Energy (traditional <br />and renewable), 4) green buildings, 5) waste/ resource conservation, 6) ecosystems/ <br />habitats, 7) air quality, and 8) water/ stormwater. The Sustainability Plan will guide the <br />community’s actions in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improve water and air <br />quality, preserve ecosystems and habitats, and prevent stormwater runofffor years to <br />come. Now is the time to have a role in this important planning process. Please contact <br />Petree Eastman at 505-8535 or via email at peastman@ucitymo.org, if you are <br />interested in participating. <br />The Municipal Commission on Arts & Letters for University City is pleased to welcome <br />Traci Moore-Clay as this school year’s Returning Artist <br />. An alumna of University <br />City Public Schools, graduating from University City High School in 1988, and <br />graduating from the University of Kansas in 1993 is currently the founding owner of the <br />local design firm, Traci Moore Graphics (TMG), created in 1997. In addition to the <br />demands of managing her firm, in 2002, Traci began lecturing in Communication and <br />Design at Washington University in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. She is <br />also responsible for the creation and ongoing collaborative at University City High <br />School, WashUCity Design Partnership. From February 1 thru 5, 2010, Traci Moore- <br />Clay, former president of the University City Education Foundation and former president <br />of the Municipal Commission on Arts & Letters will be visiting several University City <br />school classrooms to share her graphic design, communication, and leadership <br />expertise. The Returning Artist Series is the Arts and Letters Commission’s principal <br />educational component designed specifically for schoolchildren. Council is cordially <br />invited to attend a public reception in Traci Moore-Clay’s honor on Sunday, February 7, <br />2010 from 2-3:30 PM at Centennial Commons. The session <br />will be held in the EOC Room at City Hall at 8:00 PM. <br />Pension Board meeting <br />The Council Members are invited to attend the next for a <br />discussion of the Pension Board’s report regarding transitioning to a defined <br />contribution pension program for non-uniform personnel. The Pension Board will meet <br />on Tuesday, January 26 at 7:00 PM.
