Session [730, Minutes <br />Au§ust 17, 1998 <br /> <br />Mayor Adams thanked Mr. Irons and Ms. Tate for their willingness to serve and said <br />that their service truly helped the City work. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams also reminded Council to remember to take care of their vacancies and <br />appointments promptly. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: (4 Items): <br /> <br />#1 - Public Street & Alley Paving Assessments: The City Council each year sets the <br />assessment rates to be charged benefitting property owners for the improvement of <br />unpaved public streets and alleys. The rates are based on bids received on recent <br />projects and are in effect for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1999. I recommend <br />acceptance of the rate of $23.00 per abutting alley footage and $38.00 per abutting <br />street front or side footage. <br /> <br />#2 - Communication Equipment Maintenance: Invitation to Bids were sent to three area <br />communication service companies for the communications service contract. Three bids <br /> <br />were received. The results are as follows: <br /> <br /> ~ Warner Communications A&E Electronics <br /> <br /> Potice Dept (too) 700.00 408.00 <br /> Fire Dept, (too) 380.00 379.00 <br /> Central Garage (mo) 255.00 259.00 <br /> Total (11 mo~ths) 14;6~5:00: 11 506,00 <br /> <br />St, Louis Ele~ronics <br /> <br />374.00 <br /> <br />307,00 <br /> <br />390.00 <br /> <br />11,781;00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding the service contract to A&E Electronics for their <br />low bid of $11,506.00. <br /> <br />~k3 - Tennis Courf Resurfacincl: Invitations to Bid were sent to five construction <br />companies for proposals to resurface four tennis courts at Kaufman Park. $12,650 was <br />set aside in the budget for this project. The bids were tabulated as follows: <br /> <br />St. Louis Paving <br />*Frazier Davis Const. <br /> <br />$11,500.00 <br />$11,484.00 <br /> <br />Frazier Davis has not yet completed work on a contract for asphalt park paths awarded <br />last Fall, therefore, Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding this project to St. Louis Paving <br />for their bid of $11,500.00. <br /> <br /> <br />
