Session 1730, Minutes <br />August 17, 199@ <br /> <br />#4 - 1999 Chevrolet Blazer-Re~)lacement for Car #10: Invitations for Bids were issued <br />for purchasing a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer for the Police Department. The following <br />response was received: <br /> <br />Don Brown Chevrolet $23,689.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends purchasing this vehicle from Don Brown Chevrolet for their <br />bid of $23,689.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the consent calendar. Mr. Munkel seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2: PUBLIC HEARING - TAX RATE: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that the City Council set the tax rates for University City as part of <br />the budget process in June. State law requires that the rates be reviewed and again <br />established in August. A public hearing has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. this date and <br />place. The rates previously established and recommended now for adoption by <br />ordinance are $.85 for the University City Loop Special Business District, $.85 for the <br />Parkview Gardens Special Business District, $.64 for the General Revenue Fund, $.34 <br />for the Library and $.02 for the Pension Fund. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams declared the Public Hearing open at 7:40 p.m. Being that there were no <br />requests to speak, the Mayor closed the Hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />AGENDA #3:1255 FERGUSON LIQUOR LICENSE: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that a license application has been resubmitted to sell all types of <br />alcoholic beverages by the drink at this location. The application was denied in the <br />past, however, individual members of Council indicated that it could be resubmitted at <br />this time following six months of operation of the restaurant. In order to consider this <br />license request the City Council should first call for a public hearing which could take <br />place on August 31 at 7:30 p.m. in these Council Chambers. Council may also <br />designate those to be notified of the hearing. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff said that Mr. Montgomery resubmitted the <br />same application. Responding further to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff reported that he <br />did know of any conditions that had changed. He did notice that Mr. Montgomery has <br />done a good job of litter control, policing the property around his restaurant. The rest of <br />the property which is not his remains a problem. A copy of a letter addressed to Mr. <br />Montgomery from the residents was received and the Council received a copy. Mr. <br /> <br /> <br />
