Regular meeting <br />March 20, 2006 <br /> <br />PROCLAMATIONS: <br />None <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS: <br />The resolution stated that the Public Works Department is seeking accreditation through <br />the American Public Works Association was introduced by Arthur Sharpe, Jr. and <br />seconded by Ms. Colquitt. It passed unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S CALENDAR <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #1 – The Consent Calendar <br /> <br />#1 — 7740 Olive Blvd. Liquor License Management Change <br />Managing officer changed from Wei Hong to Li Hong Chen. New manager <br />requested change in liquor license classification to beer and wine only. <br /> <br />#2 — Application to serve beer and wine at 6392 Delmar <br />Request for license is for Art Show at Star Clipper on April 1, 2006. <br /> <br />#3 — Resurfacing of Tennis Courts at Flynn & Fogerty Parks <br /> The recommendation was to accept lowest bid of Frazier-Davis for $15,640. <br /> <br />#4 — Purchase nine Chevrolet 2006 Silverado Pickup Trucks and thirteen 2006 <br />Chevrolet Impalas for Public Works and Police Dept. The recommendations <br />was to go to low bidder for the pickup trucks to Feld Chevrolet for $77,158 <br />and the low bidder for the Impalas to Don Brown Chevrolet for $132,846. <br /> <br />#5 — Demolition Contract for 6737 Julian Ave. <br /> It was recommended to go to low bidder, E.C.E., Inc for $15,010. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot reminded Mr. Ollendorf that she had requested to remove Item # 4. Ms. <br />Welsch motioned for approval of the remaining items on the Consent calendar and was <br />seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. It was passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Item #4 of Consent calendar: the purchase of vehicles <br />Ms. Brot asked City Manager how many vehicles U City purchased every year. Mr. <br />Ollendorff said he would find out and get back to her. Ms. Brot then asked if City also <br />compared the same size car but another make. Mr. Ollendorff said that a comparison is <br />made periodically but the City tries to standardize its fleet so as not to have to stock <br />many different parts. Ms. Brot said, following the lead of Ms. Welsch requesting our <br />buildings be more energy efficient, so should University City’s fleet of vehicles be <br />energy efficient. Mr. Sharpe moved for adoption and was seconded by Ms. Welsch. <br />The motion carried unanimously. <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />
