Session 171 I, Minutes 10
November 24, 1997

Mr. Ware moved approval of the site plan. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which
carried unanimously.

AGENDA NO. 5 - SITE PLAN EXTENSION - 500 NORTH & SOUTH:

Mr. Goldman recommended a twelve month extension for the site plan involving
construction of apartment buildings at 500-518 North & South since additional time
is necessary for the developer to obtain appropriate financing and related approvals.
Such extensions have been routinely granted to other projects in the past unless
there are major changes and circumstances involving the property or project.

Mr. Wagner moved approval of the site plan extension. Mr. Schoomer seconded the
motion, which carried unanimously.

AGENDA NO. 6 - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION:

Mr. Goldman recommends approval of the annual application for block grant funds
in the amount allocated to us for the year beginning April 1998, including the
following projects:

Parkview Gardens Police $22,787
Northeast Police 3,000
Parkview Gardens Code Enforcement 45,000

Commercial Code Enforcement
Trees, Forestry
Food for the Homeless
Elderly Housing Program
Home Rehab Administration
Rehabilitation of Private Property
Reconstruct Alley South of Crest
Total

13,000
35,000
3,000
1,390
1,000
10,009
67,000
$201,186

This represents a reduction of $100,000 from the current year. We have reduced the
amounts set aside for street and alley paving, for apartment building rehab and the
amount for Parkview Gardens extra police overtime. All other programs remain
close to the same amount as is currently budgeted. We will provide adequate
Parkview Gardens police out of General Fund budget money. The application must
be submitted early in December. Amendments can be considered should new
projects and needs arise after we have received final grant approval in a few
months.
