Session 171 I, Minutes
November 24, 1997

Outdoor Equipment
Trade In
Total

$14,233.00
$1,508.00
$12,725.00

Modern Distributing Co.
Trade In
Total

$13,700.00
$2,700.00
$10,000.00

The truckster submitted for bid from Modern Distributing did not meet the Golf
Course's specifications. I recommend purchasing the truckster from Outdoor
Equipment for $12,725.00.

#8 - Fire Station Kitchen Rehab: We requested proposals for new kitchens in both
fire stations. Two proposals were received out of eight companies contacted:

Deck and Kitchen
Builders Square

CITY HALL STATION

NORTH & SOUTH
STATION

$5,450 $5,325
$6,995 $7,595

The budget includes $5,500 for one kitchen. I recommend accepting the low bid for
the City Hall station in the amount of $5,450 at this time, as well as the low bid for
the second kitchen in the amount $5,325, to be carried out at such time as
additional funds become available for transfer. The bid prices are very favorable and
both kitchens need to be rehabilitated.

Mr. Schoomer moved adoption of the consent calendar. Mr. Munkel seconded the
motion, which carried unanimously.

AGENDA NO. 2: PUBLIC HEARING - ZONING ORDINANCE:

Mr. Goldman wanted to differentiate between the zoning ordinance and the
subdivision ordinance, so as testimony comes in, it is done in the right place. The
zoning ordinance deals with dividing the City into districts and setting regulations for
those districts. The ordinance also sets minimum lot sizes and setbacks and so forth,
for the various uses. The zoning ordinance, before Council, is a substantial revision
to the current zoning ordinance that was written and adopted in 1970 and has had a
number of amendments since. It is a full look at the zoning ordinance, bringing it up
to date with current case law and current planning standards. The second hearing
