<br />Marianne Bartin, 8429 Gannon Ave. <br />Ms. Bartin was present to speak about the letter she received on increase in fees and <br />inspections on residential rental property. She thought the City already received more <br />income from rental properties as the turnover rate is higher than resident occupied property. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci introduced the Robotics Team, the Soaring Eagles, from Brittney Woods Middle <br />School. The students gave a presentation on their idea of a “Smart Move” transportation <br />proposal for University City. They proposed a Double Decker Bus System for the Loop <br />District and presented the reasons for this proposal including cost and revenue. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner thanked the young men for their awareness of the green practices as University <br />City is becoming a leader in and encouraged them to keep up the good work. <br /> <br />Mr. Price suggested that they contact Joe Edwards, President of the Loop Business District, <br />to get on their meeting agenda. <br /> <br />Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert said she had recently learned that the City is outsourcing the dispatching of fire <br />calls. She had not heard a discussion on the Council floor about this. Ms. Glickert thought it <br />was a waste of $77,000 and was an additional level of government that is responsible for life <br />and death. <br /> <br />Mr. Price stated that it was discussed by Council at a study session and was not hidden. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams stated that the City was written up on its dispatching procedures. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci apologized for the tones of the Council and encouraged Ms. Glickert to continue to <br />speak and ask questions to hold the Council accountable. <br /> <br />Robert Davoli, Jr., 7378 Milan Ave. <br />Mr. Davoli stated that he attended the University City School’s Youth task force meeting. He <br />said he volunteered for one of the sub-committees and is still waiting for a response. He <br />thought University City could use a data base of volunteers. Mr. Davoli was concerned over <br />the needs of the City’s youth and seniors. His presentation is attached to the end of the <br />minutes. <br /> <br />Lawrence Taylor, 7472 Stanford Ave <br />Mr. Taylor invited the Council to attend the U-City Participation meeting with City Manager <br />Julie Feier to speak on the City’s budget. <br /> <br />Nicholas Frederiksen, 420 N. Hanley <br />Mr. Frederiksen stated he had issues with the credibility of the City Manager and felt <br />Mr. Price’s comments had an air of arrogance. He asked if there was a typo in the <br />$5,000 for a party in the budget. He asked about employee law suits, affecting moral <br />in the department and why is nothing being done. Mr. Frederiksen said that a <br />comment made by Mr. Sharpe, “what is good enough for Joe is good enough for me” <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Mr. Price stated that his frustration is with people coming here with erroneous <br />statements and if he doesn’t say anything then, that gives the appearance that it is <br />true. He said he gets questioned on his proposal to give the youth $100,000. Mr. <br /> <br />
