Article XVI: HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE <br />A three member Health and Safety Committee of the Union can meet on a quarterly basis <br />with the Fire Chief and the Department Safety Officer or at such other times as may be necessary <br />and agreed upon to discuss and, where possible, to improve the health and safety conditions of <br />the department. <br /> <br />Article XVII: VACATION <br />All regular full-time Firefighters, Paramedic Firefighters, and Paramedic Fire Captain <br />with between one (1) and five (5) years service shall accrue 14 hours for each full calendar <br />month of service toward annual vacation leave; 15 hours for service between six (6) and ten (10) <br />years; 18 hours for service between eleven (11) and twenty (20) years; 24 hours for service after <br />completing twenty (20) years of service. <br />Article XVIII: BULLETIN BOARDS <br />The Employer agrees to furnish space and location for a suitable bulletin board that may <br />be used by the Union in each of the City’s Engine Houses. The Union shall only use these said <br />boards for its postings. The City has the right to remove any scandalous, scurrilous, or political <br />material. <br />Article XIX: DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDINGS <br /> The Fire Chief, with consent of the Human Resources Director and the City Manager or <br />the City Manager and the Human Resources Director by mutual consent may, for misconduct, <br />inefficiency, or other just cause discharge a regular employee. Any time a Firefighter, <br />Paramedic Firefighter, or Paramedic Fire Captain is called before the Fire Chief for the purpose <br />of considering disciplinary action against the employee, the employee shall have the right to <br />notify the Union Executive Board Member or Shop Steward and one of the officers of the Union <br />or the designated UCFD active regular employee alternate shall then have right to accompany <br />the member and advise him or her. <br />Article XX: INJURY LEAVE <br />The City agrees to continue granting 40 working days injury leave. Any such Firefighter, <br />Paramedic Firefighter, or Paramedic Fire Captain injured on the job shall have the right to appeal <br />to the Council, in accordance with previous practice, for additional injury leave time before <br />possible use of sick leave and vacation. <br />Article XXI: UNION DUES DEDUCTION <br />Upon authorization by the employee, the City will withhold from any Union employee’s <br />8 <br /> <br />
