Leave with Pay: <br />As required, earned sick and/or annual leave may be used for pregnancy needs. <br />The City will maintain paying the same portion of the health insurance premiums while <br />employee is on paid status. <br />Leave without pay: <br />A.May be requested and granted when the employee’s physician provides notice <br />that certain job duties should be avoided for health reasons. <br />B.While employee is on unpaid leave, the City will maintain pay the same portion <br />of health insurance premiums up to 12 weeks. <br />C.Beyond 12 weeks leave, seniority is not counted while on leave without pay <br />status. Sick leave and annual leave shall not accrue during leave without pay. <br />Likewise, unpaid leave will not be counted toward creditable service for <br />retirement benefits. <br />D.Total of all leave absences (whether paid or unpaid) for pregnancy disability not <br />to exceed 12 weeks. Under special circumstances more time can be approved by <br />the City Manager. <br />E.Reinstatement after above leave will be made to the same or reasonably <br />equivalent job provided the employee had worked in non-probationary status <br />before the start of any pregnancy disability leave for at least six consecutive <br />months and at least 1,250 hours. <br />F.The City will continue to abide by all current or future Federal and State <br />legislation as it may pertain to municipalities. This policy includes all such <br />requirements. <br />Article XXV: OPERATION BULLETINS <br />Operation bulletins will be distributed to all personnel in accordance with established <br />procedures.
