He said the Tennant ice resurfacer
would not be sold, but would be rebid.
Mr. Levy asked the original price of the ice resurfacer, and a current price. Mr.
Ollendorff said he did not know the original price; however, a replacement would
cost from $25,000 to $30,000.
Mr. Levy moved approval, with Mrs. Metcalfe seconding the motion. All voted Aye.

CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - 8676 OLIVE BOULEVARD

The City Manager recommended approval of a conditional use permit for Boghosian En-
terprises to operate a wholesale automobile sale facility in the Beyers Industrial
Park area. The use met all ordinance requirements and has adequate safeguards to
protect against intrusion of the adjacent neighborhood. He said the business.would
be an asset to the community and was located on a site well-suited for its purpose.
Mr. Levy moved approval, with Mrs. Metcalfe seconding the motion.

Mr. Lieberman asked if conditions were attached. Mr. Al Goldman, Director of Plan-
ning, said there were no additional conditions besides the ones included as part of
the ordinance.
All voted in favor of approval.

CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - 6501 DELMAR BOULEVARD

The City Manager said a conditional use permit was required for a proposed restaur-
ant (Saleem's) at 6501 Delmar. Both the staff and Plan Commission recommended ap-
proval, and Mr. Ollendorff concurred in that recommendation. He said the building
has been in poor condition, and the staff will insist that it is brought up to code
before occupancy takes place.
Mrs. Metcalfe, liaison to the Plan Commission, referred to a long-range concern
which was discussed at the Plan Commission meeting when the application was consid-
ered. That concern had to do with the rather large number of restaurants now locat-
ed in the Loop area and the implications for parking. There was brief discussion.
Mr. Adams was concerned about the poor condition of the building, and Mr. Ollendorff
assured him the building would meet code standards before an occupancy permit was
issued.

Mr. Adams moved approval. Mrs. Metcalfe seconded the motion, which carried unani-
mously.
TAX WAIVER - 1119 BACKER STREET

The City Manager recommended that back taxes and liens in the amount of $2,751.63
on the vacant lot (now owned by St. Louis County) at 1119 Backer be waived, subject
to purchase by the adjacent resident owner, Lillie E. Sharpe, 1121 Backer. The lot
is 30' x 123'. Ms Sharpe would like to acquire title of the lot for a garden and
additional yard space.
