The funds obtained will be used to provide ed- <br /> ucational programs in the areas of energy conservation and solar energy development, <br /> air quality, solid waste management, water resource development and land use poli- <br /> cy. He said the organization noted that it has worked successfully with University <br /> City on the Treesaver Program and that they intend to continue support of this pro- <br /> gram in every way they can. The organization will conduct a door-to-door canvass <br /> and fundraising on Saturdays only between September 15, 1982 and January 31, 1983, <br /> only during daylight hours, using three to six solicitors whose names will be sup- <br /> plied in advance as per ordinance. <br /> Mr. Schoomer moved approval, with Mrs. Thompson seconding the motion. <br /> Mr. Lieberman wished to know why the Coalition wanted to go door-to-door, exactly <br /> what hours will be used, and whether or not the period of canvassing can be re- <br /> duced. Mr. Ollendorff said the parameters are set forth by the ordinance, but the <br /> Council can move restrictions within those set by the ordinance. <br /> Mr. Lieberman moved to table. Mrs. Metcalfe seconded the motion. All voted Aye <br /> except Mr. Schoomer and Mrs. Thompson. <br /> <br /> PERSONNEL REPORT <br /> The Personnel report for the week ending September 18, 1982 was received and order- <br /> ed filed. <br /> <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> <br /> The Fire Department report for the month of August, 1982 was received and ordered <br /> filed. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> <br /> The Police Department report for the month of August, 1982 was received and ordered <br /> filed. <br /> <br /> APPOINTMENT - MUNICIPAL COMMISSION ON ARTS AND LETTERS <br /> Mayor Mooney moved the appointment of Ms Jerrilyn B. Changar, 7446 Washington, to <br /> the Municipal Commission on Arts and Letters, for a term expiring January 2, 1986. <br /> Mr. Adams seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> EXECUTIVE MEETING <br /> Mr. Adams moved that the Council hold an executive meeting on Monday, October 11, <br /> 1982, at 6:00 p.m., for the purpose of discussing personnel matters. Mrs. Metcalfe <br /> seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers <br /> Lieberman, Adams, Metcalfe, Levy, Schoomer, Thompson and Mayor Mooney. NAYS: None. <br /> <br /> RECONSIDERATION OF LIQUOR LICENSE FOR ALL IN ONE FOOD SHOP <br /> Mr. Schoomer, as one who voted in favor of granting a liquor license to the All in <br /> One Food Shop, moved that this matter be reconsidered. Mrs. Thompson seconded the <br /> motion. All voted Aye except Mr. Levy and Mr. Adams. <br />
