Session 1746 <br />February 8, 1999 <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman believes that the 10% assessment against the Delmar property owners <br />seems fair, but he hopes that it is understood that the balance would have to be paid by <br />the rest of the property owners. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams asked for Council to decide the main motion to approve the amended <br />resolution. Council approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer wished to extend his thanks to Evelyn Shields and her public works staff for <br />bringing this project so far under budget. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS: <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel move(~ the appointment of Ms. Sally Cowan, 7058 Washington, to the <br />Historical Preservation Commission for an unexpired term ending September 9, 2002. <br />Wagner seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer acknowledged recent elections of Jerry Best - Louis London, Helen Fabbri - <br />Faru, Jo Ree Keller'- A Collector's Bookshop, Patrick Liberto - Meshuggah Coffee House, <br />Peggy Rosenthall - Baton Music as members of the Loop Special Business District Advisory <br />Commission. Mr. Lieberman noted that Joe Edwards was elected as the President and Vice <br />President was Shawn Jacobs. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE: <br /> <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office to Ms. Nora Cahill - CALOP and Mr. Jeffrey <br />Dee - Park Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams thanked both for their willingness to serve on these important commissions, <br />noting that without them, the City could not function very well. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (3 ITEMS): <br /> <br />#1 - Picnic Liquor License - Forsyth/Northmoor: Habitat for Humanity requests approval of <br />a license to sell beer and wine at a not-for-profit fund-raising event to be held at our Lady of <br />Lourdes parish gym, on March 20. This type of event has taken place in past years at this <br />location without problems. Council may approve the license since it is in accordance with <br />City ordinances. <br /> <br /> <br />
