Session 1746
February 8, 1999

Mr. Lieberman believes that the 10% assessment against the Delmar property owners
seems fair, but he hopes that it is understood that the balance would have to be paid by
the rest of the property owners.

Mayor Adams asked for Council to decide the main motion to approve the amended
resolution. Council approved unanimously.

Mr. Schoomer wished to extend his thanks to Evelyn Shields and her public works staff for
bringing this project so far under budget.

APPOINTMENTS:

Mr. Munkel move(~ the appointment of Ms. Sally Cowan, 7058 Washington, to the
Historical Preservation Commission for an unexpired term ending September 9, 2002.
Wagner seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.

Mr.

Mr. Schoomer acknowledged recent elections of Jerry Best - Louis London, Helen Fabbri -
Faru, Jo Ree Keller'- A Collector's Bookshop, Patrick Liberto - Meshuggah Coffee House,
Peggy Rosenthall - Baton Music as members of the Loop Special Business District Advisory
Commission. Mr. Lieberman noted that Joe Edwards was elected as the President and Vice
President was Shawn Jacobs.

OATH OF OFFICE:

The City Clerk administered the oath of office to Ms. Nora Cahill - CALOP and Mr. Jeffrey
Dee - Park Commission.

Mayor Adams thanked both for their willingness to serve on these important commissions,
noting that without them, the City could not function very well.

CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS:

AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (3 ITEMS):

#1 - Picnic Liquor License - Forsyth/Northmoor: Habitat for Humanity requests approval of
a license to sell beer and wine at a not-for-profit fund-raising event to be held at our Lady of
Lourdes parish gym, on March 20. This type of event has taken place in past years at this
location without problems. Council may approve the license since it is in accordance with
City ordinances.
