Session 1746 <br />February 8, 1999 <br /> <br />#2 - Street Tree Inventory Grant Contract: Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of a <br />contract with Skip Kincaid Associates in the amount of $21,025 for a detailed inventory of <br />each public street tree (15,000) including condition and needed work on each. The City <br />has received a grant of $12,000 from the State to carry out this project. Volunteers are <br />being sought to work at the direction of Mr. Kincaid to complete this data gathering project. <br />All data will be placed in our computer system in a format that can be easily updated and <br />accessed. Several consultants were considered and Mr. Kincaid selected based on his <br />knowledge and experience. This project carries to the next level the initial block by block <br />survey completed by our City staff in fine fashion last summer. <br /> <br />#3 - Budget transfers: Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of budget transfer for the first <br />six months of the fiscal year through December, 1998. Money from contingency, grants <br />and other revenue sources offsets grant expenses and other unforeseen costs. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the consent calendar. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, <br />which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL REPORT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams ackr~owledged the personnel report for February 5, 1999 as duly accepted. <br /> <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT COMPUTER UPGRADES: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff wanted to report that the bids were received for police department computer <br />software upgrades. This is ready for Council action, but bids have not yet been received for <br />the hardware. Both, items will be ready for Council approval in the next or next two Council <br />meetings. Mayor Adams asked if that would make the police department Y2K compliant. <br />Mr. Ollendorff replied that it would. <br /> <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSION LIAISON REPORTS: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams that the commissions that he is liaison to have not met recently, so he has <br />no report. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe said that he was liaison to the Traffic Commission and has not met recently. <br />There next meeting is next Wednesday, the 10th, so he has no report. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer reported, as liaison to the Arts and Letter Commission, waived its regular <br />meeting to preview the Washington Sculpture nominees. He was unable to attend, but he <br />is sure we will all be pleasantly surprised. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
