APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. <br />December 13, 2010, Study Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Sharpe and <br />carried unanimously. <br />2. <br />December 13, 2010, Regular Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Price. He <br />made note of a change needed under his Council Comments changing ex facto to defacto. <br />The minutes as amended were moved for approval by Mr. Sharpe and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />F. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. <br />Bernetta Campbell nominated by Byron Price was appointed by Mayor Welsch to the <br />Seniors/Youth Task Force. <br />2. <br />Beverly Jane Spudich nominated by Lynn Ricci was appointed by Mayor Welsch to the <br />Bikeability/Walkability Task Force. <br />3. <br />Barbara Jean Sydnor was nominated for a four year term to the Economic Development <br />Retail Sales Tax Board by Mayor Welsch, seconded by Mr. Glickert and carried <br />unanimously. <br />4. <br />Gordon Myers was reappointed to a four year term to the Economic Development Retail <br />Sales Tax Board by Mayor Welsch, seconded by Mr. Kraft and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />G. SWEARING IN <br /> <br />H. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed) <br /> <br />Melcine Henderson, 1339 Purdue <br />Ms. Henderson presented the U City Fair concept to the Council. She noted a committee has <br />been formed and the objective is for a family fun weekend within the community. The date is <br />thth <br />set for May 29 and 30 on Memorial weekend. Ms. Henderson asked for Council’s assistance <br />in finding donations and volunteers. <br /> <br />I. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />J. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />K. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. <br />Fire Department Rescue Tool from Schumacher Fire Equipment for $33,264. Mr. Price <br />moved for approval and was seconded by Mr. Sharpe. <br /> <br />CITIZENS COMMENTS <br />Gregory Pace, 7171 Westmoreland <br />Mr. Pace noted that all three of the fire engines are equipped with functioning rescue tools <br />and this request adds no new capability. The reason given for the purchase was to reduce <br />training requirements and to allow interchangeability between engines. Mr. Pace stated <br />these were relatively simple hydraulic tools and precision was not a requirement in applying <br />the tool. Mr. Pace said the fire fighters/paramedics have ample down time to be trained on <br />different rescue tools at no cost. He said with four on an engine not all needed to fluent on <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br />
