He said he <br />is against package liquor stores but with Mr. Glickert’s findings, he felt comfortable with it. <br /> <br />Mr. Price said it was his understanding that once the license was approved they would have <br />no control over the selling of “spirits” or not. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked the City Manager to begin a review of the City’s package liquor <br />ordinance to make sure the details are in line with today’s reality. <br /> <br />The voice vote carried by a majority, with Nay votes from Mr. Price and Mr. Sharpe. <br /> <br />3. <br />Liquor License application for Fitz’s Restaurant, 6605 Delmar <br />Mr. Crow moved for approval and was seconded by Mr. Kraft. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert asked for clarification if this application was for Sunday sales. <br /> <br />Michael Alter – owner of Fitz’s Restaurant <br />Mr. Alter stated the reason for the application was that he took back the ownership of the <br />restaurant and needed to change the name on the liquor license. <br /> <br />Voice vote carried unanimously for approval. <br /> <br />4. <br />Liquor license for 8531 Olive, La Monarca Grocery.. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Kraft and carried by a majority with one <br />Nay vote from Mr. Price. <br /> <br />Mr. Price stated that this was a departure from previous precedence, so when issues come <br />up for liquor license he hoped that everyone who voted for it steps forward and deals with it. <br />He said he will always vote against a package liquor license. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert noted that this application was not for a package liquor license but for a food <br />restaurant by the drink and alcohol will not exit the restaurant. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci asked if the application did not ask for package liquor.. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch noted that the first application included package liquor but the second <br />application was amended for liquor sales by the drink for the restaurant instead. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe verified that it was liquor by the drink and no liquor will live the premise and a La <br />Monarca Grocery store representative said that was correct. <br /> <br />Voice vote carried with a majority for approval with one Nay vote from Mr. Price. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br />
