Vice Chairperson’s Report
No report. The report on the Oral History project was provided by Mr. West and Mr. Welsch.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s report was provided by Genise Lay. Ms. Lay reported that there were three
financial statements from June 2007 through August 2007 provided to the commission: the June
report was updated to include additional revenues and expenditures since its submission at the
July 2007 meeting; funds returned by David McCahan were recorded on the July report. Ms.
Lay also relayed that expenditures for the #15 Princeton project will appear on the September
financial report.

Ms. Lay reported that the budget request submitted by CALOP and the final budget printed by
the Finance Department were the same. A copy of the comparison will be provided to the
commission.

It was determined that the projected revenue amount listed in the August report was incorrect. A
correction will be made and provided to the commission.

Grant Round
Mr. Nickels noted that the grant round deadline is Monday, October 1, 2007. Ms. Lay will
assemble packets for each commission member to include the applications and an analysis
sheet for each application. Mr. Nickels asked that each commissioner provide comments at the
review meeting. In the event a commissioner is unable to attend the meeting, comments should
be forwarded to Genise Lay. An analysis sheet showing the commission’s aggregate score of
each application will be prepared and maintained in each applicant’s file.

Mr. Nickels also asked for any suggestions for streamlining the process. Mr. Nickels asked that
the commission consider answers to any general questions that the applicant’s might have. He
also noted that the interviews should be about a half hour each.

The commission agreed to review the applications on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at 6 p.m.

Liaison Report

1. Wehrenberg Theatres First 100 Years: Byington has completed research and the script,
assembled five to 10 minutes of production, and would like to meet with CALOP. An
invitation to appear at the next meeting will be extended to the filmmaker.
2. William Clark Aftermath of Glory: James Scott has scheduled interviews, submitted a
six-minute DVD, and would like to make a request for funds.
