Tom said there isn’t and it is agreed there should be a list.
Commission members at the meeting tell Tom the businesses they have solicited
and a list is started.
It is also stated that City staff can buy raffle tickets at the Starlight Concert Series
but Commission members cannot.
Stefany also asked that a list be started of businesses that have received posters
for the concert series. Members proceed to tell Tom which businesses they have
distributed posters and a list is started.
Lisa G. asked how many gift certificates are needed for each concert and the
answer given is three.

Council Member’s Report
Stefany B. said the council will be voting on the budget on Monday evening.
Stefany stated it has been a very difficult month which included some layoffs.
The City manager and finance director made enough cuts to meet the deficit.
There will be a small increase in some taxes, but property tax will not go up.
The U. Tom stated that
one of the students who participated in the 2007 show did not pick up her check
and asked what the time frame is to receive the check. Lisa M. said the students
have six months to pick up checks and after that any unclaimed checks will be
cancelled.

Returning Artist
Calla S. said that she and Barbara plan to meet with Chris Blumenhorst
(Assistant Principal at U. City High School and Returning Artist Liaison) to
discuss and set the schedule for the next returning artist.

Photo Show
Barbara S said that she and Claire, Marilyn and Lisa G. met for preliminary
discussions about changes that could be made regarding the Photo Show.
It is mentioned that Lisa M. could talk to professional photographers who enter
photo shows to get information about updating the U. City Photo Show. The
question of how much change should there be – a little or a lot – is mentioned as
important in heading toward the next Photo Show in the fall of 2009.
Lisa G. said that the above group of members discussed a “pre-juried” show to
bring up the show’s quality. Barbara said she feels that every photo entered
