McFee confirmed that this project cost the City in exceed of $25,000.00. But no <br />matter the City won’t give up the calendar because it is a great tool for delivering <br />information to the public. <br /> <br /> <br />McFee addressed the City Scrape as an informational piece and confirmed that do <br />to budget cuts it will only come out three times a year. Lisa Greening questioned <br />if the City Scrape drives readers to the City website. McFee confirmed that it <br />does. The Commission thanked Monica for her report she departed at 7:35 PM. <br /> <br />Calla Smorodin return to the agenda with request for approval of the December minutes. <br />Moved for approval –Lisa Greening <br />Second—Julie Bianchi <br /> <br />Treasurers Report—Lisa Greening <br />Lisa Greening reported she now has received prior reports and that Tom McCarthy and <br />she will be meeting with the bank to verify details and will be putting the report into <br />excel for the March meeting. At first review she reported a balance of $12,153.00. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report: Stefany Brot <br /> <br /> <br />She referred to changes regarding balk item pick-up City wide and the efficiency <br />of the Signal stream sanitation pick-up. <br /> <br /> <br />The Washington University challenge has been solved—Councilman Bob Wagner <br />and her met with representatives and know that the building in question will not <br />be used as dorms but signal family homes. <br /> <br /> <br />Parking in University City has been upgraded and the City will be more <br />aggressive about collecting outstanding ticket fees as well as stricter <br />enforcements. <br /> <br /> <br />The Ice Carnival is coming during the weekend of January 19, 2008. Plan to <br />attend…. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br /> <br /> Sculpture Series—Julie Bianchi— <br />Confirmed that the committee have been <br />working on organizing the upcoming presentation on January 28 & 29, 2008. <br />Julie distributed a sign up sheet for refreshments. <br /> <br />Julie questioned why we haven’t presented the Darwin Portman Award for the <br />“best of” Sculpture during this event? Last time it was issued was 2002…. <br /> <br />Adelia Parker-Castro questioned what are judging, what is a sculpture? To select <br />a sculpture for the Portman Award we must have a criteria for the commission to <br />judge the selected sculpture once they are insulted. Calla instructed the <br />committee to find a way to judge for the Darwin Portman Award. <br /> <br />Tom McCarthy feels that this award is important because it builds associations— <br />with the RAC, art teachers, etc. <br /> <br /> <br />
