Session 1747
February 22, 1999

PASSING OF MOSE MICHAEL HEAD:

Mr. OIlendorff said that it was his sad duty to advise the Mayor and Council and all of the
University City community that Mose Head passed away, a beloved member of our city hall
family. Mose directed operations in the public works department and had worked for
University City for twenty-five years. His legacy with the city is two fold. First, we lost a
very dear friend and a person we all admired greatly. Secondly, Mose served as the city's
affirmative action officer. As you pass through the work places of the city and through the
offices of city hall, you will see a large number of high quality women and African-
Americans who work for our city and that serve the citizens. We are not perfect, but we are
much better off thanks to Mr. Head's work. For this, we will always be grateful and
remember him. Final arrangements have not yet been made, but should be later this
evening or tomorrow.

Mayor Adams called for a moment of silence in memory of Mose Head.

CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS:

AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (3 ITEMS):

#1 - Pool Sound System: Invitation for Bids were sent to five companies to provide a
sound system for Heman Pool. $12,000 was set-aside for the requirement.
