<br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />December 22,1993 Plan Commission Meeting Minutes Page 4 <br /> <br />applicant wished to submit to them in the future. <br /> <br />Proposed Text Amendments of Zoning Code ~34-90, Defmitions of: "Group home for the <br />handicapped," "Group home for the handicapped (small)," "Group home for the <br />handicapped (large)"; Proposed Text Amendments of Zoning Code ~~ 34-30.2,31.2, 32.2 <br />and 33.2 dealing with group homes for the handicapped as permitted and/or conditional <br />uses in "SR," "LR," "MR." and "HR" Zoning Districts. <br /> <br />Mr. Marsh stated that Commission would now consider the text amendments to ~34-90, 30.2, <br />31.2, 32.2 and 33.2 in connection with "group homes for the handicapped. Ms. Kreishman <br />moved that the Plan Commission recommend adoption of the text amendments to the University <br />City Zoning Code. The motion was seconded by Mr. Safe and passed by a vote of 4 to O. The <br />text of the amendments follows: <br /> <br />Amend Section 34-90 Defmitions, by adding the following definitions: <br /> <br />Group homefor the handicapped: A dwelling unit where a group of unrelated mentally <br />or physically handicapped persons reside and in which such a group does not fall within <br />the definition of "family." <br /> <br />Group home for the handicapped, small: A dwelling unit where eight (8) or fewer <br />unrelated mentally or physically handicapped persons reside, plus not more than two (2) <br />additional persons serving as house parents or guardians who need not be related to each <br />other or to any of the mentally or physically handicapped persons residing in the <br />dwelling. <br /> <br />Group home for the handicapped, large: A dwelling unit where more than eight (8) <br />unrelated mentally or physically handicapped persons reside, plus additional persons <br />serving as house parents or guardians who need not be related to each other or to any of <br />the mentally or physically handicapped persons residing in the dwelling. <br /> <br />Amend Section 34-30.2 PERMITTED USES, by adding small group homes for the <br />handicapped located more than 1000 feet from other group homes for the handicapped as a <br />permitted use; and by adding small group homes for the handicapped, where the group home <br />dwelling unit is one thousand (1,000) feet or less from any existing group home dwelling unit, <br />and large group homes for the handicapped as conditional uses; so that the section as amended <br />reads: <br /> <br />34-30.2 PERMITTED USES <br /> <br />a.
