Plan Commission has been asked to consider including specific language that indicates that <br />the redevelopment of Olive Boulevard is the University City’s highest priority. <br />Staff Recommendation: p. 42, insert as the first “checkbox” under “Policies” <br />The City will establish the physical and economic redevelopment of Olive Boulevard as its <br />highest priority. <br />3. Plan Commission has been asked to consider including specific language that indicates that <br />economic development opportunities should be focused on developers, contractors and <br />new businesses that provide jobs for the residents of University City. <br />Staff Recommendation: p. 42, insert as a “checkbox” under “Policies” <br />The City will give priority to businesses that create jobs that capitalize on the diversity of <br />talent of the residents of University City. <br />Ms. Riganti then explained that a public hearing is necessary to hear comments on the proposed <br />amendments. The Chairperson then opened the Public Hearing. No comments were received <br />from the public. <br />Ms. Riganti then recommended approval of the revisions to the Comprehensive Plan Update of <br />2006 per staff recommendation. The motion was made by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. <br />Marentette to approve amendment 1 to the Comprehensive Plan Update of 2006. The motion <br />passed 6 to 0 with all members voting “aye.” <br />The motion was made by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Marentette to approve amendment 2 to the <br />Comprehensive Plan Update of 2006. The motion passed 6 to 0 with all members voting “aye.” <br />Regarding amendment 3, Mr. Miller requested that “give priority” be changed to “encourage”. A <br />motion was made by Mr. Kreishman, seconded by Mr. Myers to approve amendment 3 to the <br />Comprehensive Plan Update of 2006 with one change: “give priority” be changed to “encourage”. <br />The motion passed 6 to 0 with all members voting “aye.” <br />Hearing: Map Amendment (Rezoning) - GC to PD-M, 7384 Forsyth (aka 7386 and 7440 <br />Forsyth) <br />The Chairperson announced that a hearing was scheduled concerning an application from Josh <br />Wohlreich, Project Manager, Orchard Development Group, 561 W. Diversity Parkway, Suite 202, <br />Chicago, IL 60614 for a map amendment of the property located at 7384 Forsyth (aka 7386 and <br />7440 Forsyth) from “GC” - General Commercial District to “PD-M” - Planned Development - <br />Mixed Use District. <br />The Chairperson noted the Commission's procedures and criteria for reviewing map amendments. <br />The applicant was represented by Jay Case, Orchard Development, 2431 N.
