Residents present clarified that only two (2) parking spaces are available on the north side of <br />Gannon Avenue between the alley and the first driveway to the east. <br /> <br />Mr. Hales added to the petition that the limits were moved on the north side of Gannon Ave 10 feet <br />to the east of his driveway, to allow a free space across from his driveway to be able to exit from <br />his driveway. <br /> <br />Mr. Burkett clarified that there is more parking spaces available for the school employees west of <br />the alley and on North and South Rd. Mr. Hales reiterated his inability to park in front of his house, <br />due to non residential parking especially during weekend days at night. <br /> <br />A discussion was held regarding the inclusion of the school with address at 700 North and South <br />Rd to the petition, or to exclude the frontage and start the petition at the property line between the <br />school and first residence on the north side of Gannon Avenue at 7617 Gannon Avenue. If the <br />school is included, some parking spaces should be given to them. If the school is not included, no <br />parking permits will be provided. <br /> <br />The western limits of the petition were changed in the north side of Gannon Avenue, to start across <br />from the western edge of the 7630 Gannon Ave. driveway, and on the south side of Gannon <br />Avenue at the alley. The eastern limits of the petition remain to end at Bemiston Avenue. No <br />visitor parking permits will be given to the school/church at 700 North and South Rd. If after <br />implementation, there is a need for visitor parking from the school at the north side of Gannon <br />Avenue west of the western limits, the school is welcome to petition or submit a request to the City <br />to obtain those. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brot made a motion to establish Residential Parking Permit on the south side of <br />Gannon Ave from the alley east of North and South Rd to Bemiston Ave, and on the north side of <br />Gannon Ave to start across from the western edge of the 7630 Gannon Ave. driveway to Bemiston <br />Avenue; Commissioner Nichols seconded and the motion was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />3. Request to install stop signs and speed bumps on Melrose Avenue and Purcell Avenue <br /> <br />Mr. Burnett was not present at the meeting, and Commissioner Bondareff explained the request to <br />install stop signs and speed bumps at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Purcell Avenue. <br /> <br />Ms. Gutierrez stated that according to Police Officer Margul, there was only one (1) accident <br />reported in 2005, and the Police Department patrolled the area and found no speeding problems. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brot made a motion to enhance the One-way designation signage at this <br />intersection, including an additional “Do not enter”, “ONE-WAY” sign, and a “TWO-WAY TRAFFIC <br />AHEAD” warning sign at the intersection, Commissioner Nichols seconded and the motion was <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />4. Request to eliminate the 7200 and 7300 blocks of Pershing Avenue strict enforcement <br />zone. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bondareff explained that a reduction of the speed limit from the standard 25 mph to <br />20 mph and “No Tolerance” zone was established to prevent cut through traffic on the 7000 and <br />7100 blocks of Pershing Avenue. Commissioner Bondareff recommended postponing this item <br />until the next meeting to amend the limits and contact residents and Council member Crow. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nichols moved to postpone this item until the next meeting; Commissioner Brot <br />seconded and was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />5.
