Session 1752 <br />April 12, 1999 <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS APPOINTMENTS: <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman announced that Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. had been appointed by Governor <br />Carnahan to the Governor's Advisory Council on Aging, which is quite a distinction for our <br />City and Council. Applause followed. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams an~lounced that Sunday morning, he officially became President of the <br />Missouri Municipal League. <br /> <br />UNIVERSITY CITY HIGH SCHOOL MOCK TRIAL TEAM: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that the Mock Trial Team at University City High School won first <br />place at the Regional Competition and placed Third for the second year in a row. They did <br />a fabulous job an :1 we congratulate each and everyone of the team. A Mayor's Proclamation <br />was issued and sent to Coach Lisa Van Amburg. The team is also honored on the City's <br />Web Site. Great'Nork! <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (2 ITEMS): <br /> <br />#1 - X-Games in the Loop: Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of the X-Games proposed <br />for the Loop on May 22 and 23, 1999. Staff has completed its review of a proposal for the <br />event which inclu:led a letter of support from the Loop Special Business District, and <br />everything appears to be in order. Mr. Ollendorff believes that the X-Games will be a <br />positive event for the Loop area. <br /> <br />#2 - 1999 Chevrolet K3500 Truck: Invitations for Bids were issued for a new truck for the <br />Street Departmen'":. Five companies received bids, with only two returning responses: <br /> <br />Don Browr Chevrolet <br />Chris Auffenberg Chevrolet <br /> <br />$24,638.00 <br />$27,198.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding to Don Brown Chevrolet for their low bid of $24,638. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner move:l approval of the consent calendar.
