Public Works- Two (2) Participants <br />Parks and Recreation- Two (2) Participants <br />Community Development- Two (2) Participants <br />Library- Two (2) Participants <br />WHAT IS THE PROGRAM STRUCTURE <br />? <br />The program will include a staff coordinator that will coordinate and process timesheets, <br />evaluations, and training. The coordinator would also coordinate all administrative <br />functions of the program. <br />Each department that has a youth employee would have its own supervisor for the <br />youth. <br />PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS: <br />University City Resident <br />Age-16-19 <br />Must have successfully completed coursework in school the previous semester. <br />2.5 GPA or show sustained academic progress <br />Proof of Residency <br />Proof of eligibility to work (I-9 Documentation). <br />No felonies, misdemeanors, or type 1 school offenses. <br />Relatives or individuals allied with city officials, city employees, or any <br />commission or task force are not eligible to apply. <br />SELECTION CRITERIA <br />: <br />A standard University City application will be used. <br />A cover letter will also be required. The cover letter should include a standard letter <br />format, with 2-3 paragraphs, outlining why they (applicant) should be considered for the <br />job, while outlining any applicable skills or abilities they have. <br />Last report card with GPA. <br />Interviews based on desired placement indicated by applicants. <br />Departments will screen, interview, and select applicants for employment. <br />Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis <br />. <br />ADVERTISEMENT: <br />The advertisement process will include the following: <br />City Website <br />STLtoday website <br />City Newsletter <br />Facebook <br />Twitter <br />University City High School <br />Private schools that serve University City Youth <br />Centennial Commons <br />The goal is to specifically target University City youth, while minimizing advertising <br />costs. <br />PROGRAM OPERATIONS: <br />Youth will work Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, excluding holidays. <br /> <br />
