The program will include a staff coordinator that will coordinate and process timesheets, evaluations, and training. The coordinator would also coordinate all administrative functions of the program. Each department that has a youth employee would have its own supervisor for the youth. PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS: University City Resident Age-16-19 Must have successfully completed coursework in school the previous semester. 2.5 GPA or show sustained academic progress Proof of Residency Proof of eligibility to work (I-9 Documentation). No felonies, misdemeanors, or type 1 school offenses. Relatives or individuals allied with city officials, city employees, or any commission or task force are not eligible to apply. SELECTION CRITERIA : A standard University City application will be used. A cover letter will also be required. The cover letter should include a standard letter format, with 2-3 paragraphs, outlining why they (applicant) should be considered for the job, while outlining any applicable skills or abilities they have. Last report card with GPA. Interviews based on desired placement indicated by applicants. Departments will screen, interview, and select applicants for employment. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis . ADVERTISEMENT: The advertisement process will include the following: City Website STLtoday website City Newsletter Facebook Twitter University City High School Private schools that serve University City Youth Centennial Commons The goal is to specifically target University City youth, while minimizing advertising costs. PROGRAM OPERATIONS: Youth will work Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, excluding holidays.
