During discussion that <br />followed, Councilman Herner said he would be interested in seeing the type <br />of programs that will be used, and Councilman Glickert said she would like <br />to suggest that some of these people be given the task of cleaning up litter <br />in various areas of the City. Councilman Werner said he would like to see a <br />report of iniat they actually will be doing. <br />Councilman Grimm moved that the Council authorize the administrative forces <br />to proceed with the Title VI Employment Program and that the Council approve <br />the acceptance of y300,000 for 34 positions. Notion was seconded by Council- <br />man Lieberman. <br />Discussion continued. Councilnan Lieberman called for the question. Upon <br />vote, the motion was unanimously carried. <br />ENTRY SIGNS: <br />Councilman Glickert moved that the administrative forces be authorized to <br />expend $1200 to hire an outside consultant to design new entry signs. <br />Councilman Weissenburger, however, suggested that before moving ahead, the <br />Council should receive some estimates from the administrative forces on what <br />consultants char e, etc. <br />No further action was taken at this time. <br />COIv1MMICATION - 11R. C1.ILTON - REQUEST FOIi VtiC�aTIOid Oil STRIP OF <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY: <br />Councilman Lieberman called attention to a letter recently received by City <br />Hanager Henry, signed by Philip il. Chilton, 934 Lordshill, Shrewsbury, on <br />behalf of ilr. and lIrs. 1:enneth ii. Graeler, 7340 ilorthmoor, and Mrs. Louis H. <br />Trout of 7344 clorthmoor, who are requesting vacation of a strip of right-of- <br />way between the properties at 7340 'cdorthmoor and 7344 Northmoor. Councilman <br />Lieberman requested that the matter be referred to the City Plan Commission <br />for review and recommendation. <br />7700 BLOCK OF BALSON - PARKING PR0131,I;ii: <br />Councilman Weissenburger stated that during the recess, he was advised by lir. <br />Jack Goldstein of 7736 Balson and Iir. Ben lwtman of 7730 Balson that there is <br />a parking problem on their block due to the fact that Balson is closed at <br />its east end and cars are being parked alongside the drainage ditch. These <br />cars are being ticketed. Councilman [?eissenburger said he understood that <br />Hr. Goldstein and Mr. Lotman had gone to the Police Department to discuss <br />this, but could not get past the Cadet. Councilman 11eissenburger requested <br />that the matter be referred to the Traffic Commission for recommendation. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />On motion of Councilman 17eissenburger, seconded by cilman Werner and <br />unanimously carried, the meetizlg aA4'ourned at 1:1 A.U., <br />Jer AJ.
