No response as yet from the State. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe, liaison to the Traffic Commission, had no report. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked Mr. Lieberman about the Junior Tennis League. Mr. Lieberman <br />responded that they are comprised of more than 50% University City kids. Mr. Wagner <br />commented that he was astounded at the number of courtesy passes that are utilized and <br />he would like to know where they are all coming from. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (3 ITEMS): <br /> <br />#1 - Annual Order- Office Supplies: Proposals for the annual estimated requirements of <br />office supplies have been received. Since there are over 10,000 different office supply <br />items, the office suppliers were requested to give a discount range for seven general <br />categories. These discounts were applied to the top 50 items that the City purchases to get <br />the best price scenario. Twelve companies were invited to submit a proposal. The results <br />were as follows: <br /> <br />BT OFFICE PRODUCTS <br /> <br />BOISE CASCADE <br /> <br />34-89% Discount <br /> $10,153.09 <br /> <br />58% Discount <br />$14,780.00 <br /> <br />The best pricing scenario, after applying discounts to the 50 items is from BT Office <br />Products. BT also offers the most user friendly program and will provide on line access to <br />their order processing computer network with training for no additional cost. (One other <br />proposal was received but was incomplete and was not considered.) The discounts are <br />higher than in our current contract. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends contracting with BT Office Products for the next year with an <br />option to renew for the second year. The estimated requirement for office supplies for the <br />1999-2000 fiscal year is $45,000.00. <br /> <br />#2 - Police Uniforms: Bids have been received from two companies for police officer <br />uniform requirements during the next fiscal year.
