<br />Washington University assisted in validating the tabulation of the ballots to find the three <br />applicants with the largest number of votes. Mayor Adams announced the outcome later <br />in the meeting. <br /> <br />All candidates were thanked for their interest and desire to become a Councilmember. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams moved to the City Manager’s Consent Agenda: <br />1. Leaf Vacuum Machines <br />2. Automated Refuse Vehicles <br />Mr. Sharpe Jr. moved to accept the consent agenda, was seconded by Mr. Glickert and <br />approved unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br /> <br />Ms. Feier started out by saying how proud she is to be part of University City organization <br />and in particular this past week with all the hard work put in by the police, fire, and public <br />works. The Forestry staff had been on mandatory over-time & working with tremendous <br />empathy and professionalism. Ms. Feier noted that University City still had over 6400 <br />outages. She is gathering information on cooling and food assistance. Ms. Feier will be <br />attending meetings in search of potential funds available for the additional expense <br />incurred. She is submitting for Council’s approval the Declaration of State of Emergency. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot thanked our policemen, fireman and staff for working around the clock and <br />applauded our new City Manager, Julie Feier, for all the hard work and coordination she <br />successfully implemented. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams asked the Council to join in approval of the Declaration of Emergency in <br />order to obtain reimbursement from the Federal and/or State Governments. Mr. Wagner <br />moved for approval, was seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr., and passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Price recommended that the City Manager explore ways to work and improve <br />communication with Ameren UE. He would like to be able to obtain Ameren UE’s plans for <br />emergency situations so that the City would then know what to do. Mr. Price then asked <br />the Mayor to find out from the Missouri Municipal League the best alternative for the City to <br />deal with the utility companies. <br /> <br />The City Manager will be compiling an evaluation report on the City’s process in an <br />emergency situation and an evaluation of Ameren UE’s action in solving the emergency <br />blackout. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S CONSENT CALENDAR <br />1.
