Session 1703, Minutes <br />August 18, 1997 <br /> <br />#3 - Tennis Court Resurfacin~: Invitations to Bid were sent to five construction companies for <br />proposals to resurface four tennis courts at Heman Park. $14,000 was set aside in the budget for this <br />project. The bids were tabulated as follows: <br /> <br />St. Louis Paving <br />Frazier-Davis Const. <br /> <br />$10,900.00 <br />$10,578.00 <br /> <br />* Woman owned business <br /> <br />St. Louis Paving has a superior work quality record and offers a warranty. I recommend awarding this <br />project to St. Louis Paving for their bid of $10,900.00. <br /> <br />#4 - Copier for Police Department: Invitations to Bid were sent to six companies to provide a copier <br />for the Police Department. There is $2 ,000 set aside in the budget for this purchase. The <br />responses are as follows: <br /> <br />Progressive Equipment <br />Copying Concepts <br />CDS <br />IKON <br /> <br />$20,817 <br />$21,130 <br />$22,695 <br />$27,92O <br /> <br />The copier Progressive bid did not meet all the specifications of the Department. Copying Concepts <br />will provide improved maintenance. I recommend purchasing the copier from Copying Concepts at a <br />cost of $2 I, 130. <br /> <br />#5 - Tub Wood Waste Grinder: Bids have been received to provide a Tub Wood Waste Grinder <br />for the Street Department, tabulated as follows: <br /> <br />Erb Equipment <br />Morbark Sales Corp. <br />Key Equipment <br /> <br />$83,556.32 <br />$86,875.00 <br />$91,780.00 <br /> <br />The Street Department has tested a grinder from each of the above vendors. The Street Department <br />has indicated that the grinder offered by Morbark Sales is better constructed and will provide more <br />reliability and lower maintenance cost for the City. Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding the <br />purchase to Morbark Sales Corp. for their bid of $86,875.00. <br /> <br />#6 - Proposals - Copier Cost Per Copy Program: Request for Proposals for the copier services for <br />six copiers were sent to eight vendors. The Cost per Copy Program has been well received by the <br />Departments for the last two years and two additional departments will be added under the new <br />contract.
