The installation of the planter <br />boxes/barriers led to lower speed limits and added signs. <br /> <br />Commissioner Womack asked the two residents of Waldron Avenue and Purdue Avenue <br />to compromise as the Commission realized that both residents have valid points. Both <br />residents would be agreeable with the installation of the speed limit sign on Quendo facing <br />north near Canton Avenue and with the installation of a stop sign to replace the yield sign <br />currently at Carlyle Ave and Waldron Ave intersection. <br /> <br />Ms. Gutierrez explained that the installation of a new stop sign needs to be warranted and <br />that request can be examined at the next traffic commission meeting once accident report, <br />traffic counts, speed data, visibility and geometry has been analyzed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bondareff made a motion to deny the through traffic petition, install a speed <br />limit sign on Quendo Avenue south of Canton Ave and to consider at a future traffic <br />commission meeting the installation of a stop sign on Carlyle and Waldron Ave <br />intersection. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and unanimously approved. <br /> <br />4. Request to install No Through Traffic Signs at alley north of Olive Blvd between <br />Pennsylvania Avenue and Etzel Avenue. <br /> <br />Commissioner Henderson explained that the Public Works Department is requesting that <br />the Traffic Commission require submission of a petition signed by the property owners of <br />the block affected by this request to future consider it. <br /> <br />According to the Lynn Rossel, resident at 7015 Olive Boulevard, the alley was vacated <br />years ago by the City. Mrs. Rossel explained the speeding problems on the alley and the <br />safety concern that some of the property owner have experienced. <br /> <br />Commissioner Henderson explained that in order to install a No through Traffic Sign, the <br />residents need to submit a petition signed by over 70% of the property owners of this block <br />to consider this request. <br /> <br />5. Stop signs not warranted at intersections with vacated walkways. <br /> <br />Commissioner Henderson presented the item to remove three (3) stop sign intersections <br />from the Municipal Code section 10.36.090 Stop Intersection – Vehicles to stop at certain <br />intersections. <br /> <br />The three (3) locations are: <br />th <br />A. Alley between Bartmer & Chamberlain at 66 walkway <br />B. Alley between Bartmer & Chamberlain at Ferguson & Kingsland Walkway <br />C.
