? <br /> <br />Assess the Building Function in Department Application (resembles a manila file <br /> <br />folder that is open) “Property Control” should be highlighted <br />? <br /> <br />Enter the address in Property Location and then type in the address <br />? <br /> <br />Click “Browse” and select the correct address <br />? <br /> <br />Click your Function key (noted by the F) and then select General Permits <br />? <br /> <br />Select what type of permit is being applied for (Building, Mechanical, Electrical, <br /> <br />Fence, etc) <br />? <br /> <br />Type the description of work in the Permit Purpose box <br />? <br /> <br />Select Issued from the Permit Status <br />? <br /> <br />Press Save <br />? <br /> <br />Click on Names <br />? <br /> <br />If there’s an Applicant name already present, highlight it and then press Remove <br />? <br /> <br />Press Add then select the Applicant (person paying for the permit) <br />? <br /> <br />Press Save <br />? <br /> <br />Then click on Add again to select Contractor (make sure that Company is noted <br /> <br />and not Individual) <br />? <br /> <br />Type in the Contractors Name and then click Browse to locate information. <br /> <br /> NOTE: IF THE CONTRACTOR HAS DONE WORK IN UNIVERISTY CITY <br />BEFORE THEIR INFORMATION SHOULD BE ALREADY IN OUR SYSTEM. <br />HOWEVER, IF THEY HAVE NOT THE NEW INFORMATION WILL HAVE TO <br />BE ADDED. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Once the Contractors information has been located SAVE the information. <br />? <br /> <br />Go to your Function key (the F key) <br />? <br /> <br />Check YES for the first 3 questions asked. Do not answer the last question <br /> <br />which asks if “Final inspection approved”. <br /> <br />Issuing Building Permits <br /> (which includes renovations, additions, demolitions, fence, <br />etc.) <br /> <br />Two applications and two sets of drawings (drawn to scale) must be submitted with the <br />building permit application. The application should be filled out completely. Ensure that <br />the Estimated Construction Value is noted. <br /> <br />Please view your Private subdivision list when accepting a building permit application. If <br />the property is located in a private subdivision, then the applicant should make sure that a <br />trustee’s signature is on the drawings being submitted. <br /> <br />The same directors apply to accepting building permits as it does to mechanical, <br />EXCEPT: <br />plumbing, and electrical inspection <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Building permits cannot be placed in the Issued permit status. Pending should be <br />selected <br />? <br /> <br />Go Activities (blue check mark) <br /> 5 <br /> <br />
