?

Answer the questions
?

Stop where is says Issue Permit

Court Proceedings

Property owners receive summonses for curt approximately 60 days after they have
received their letters. The summonses are issued when a reinspection has not been
scheduled to ensure that the violations have been corrected. If the violations are
corrected before the court date, then the property owner can pay the court fees associated
FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT ON
with his violations and not appear in court. *
THE ASSIGNED DATE WILL PROMPT IMMEDIATE ISSUANCE OF AN
ARREST WARRANT.

Tickets are written to the home owner by the property maintenance and building
inspector which will state the reason for receiving the ticket (i.e. allowing occupancy
without a permit). These tickets are turned in to LaKeesha Landrum (Advanced Clerk
Typist for the Planning and Development ). LaKeesha Landrum turns the tickets in to
Jessica Sloan-McCoy, the Court Clerk in the Traffic Violations Bureau who in turns
issues a case number for the tickets.

Once a case number has been issued for the tickets by Traffic Violations Bureau, the
tickets are then returned to LaKeesha Landrum who types up the Fine Recommendation
Sheet. These sheets are saved as “Complaints Form” on the computer. The Fine
Recommendation Sheets are given to the issuing inspector who then attaches the Fine
Recommendation Sheet to the actual court file. These files are brought or the Planning
and Development Department by LaKeesha Landrum from the Traffic Violations Bureau
usually 3 to 4 days prior to the scheduled court date.

Court Dockets

Court Dockets are sent to the Planning and Development Department 2 to 3 weeks after a
particular court date. These dockets are the findings from the hearing. The dockets will
show if a particular case has been closed, the fines that were assessed, and if needed, the
next scheduled court dates.

The data found on these dockets is entered in Govern under Multi Media Information.
Christine Gordon, part-time Advanced Clerk Typists enters this information in Govern.

6
