<br />Ms. Brot would like to see staff begin to work with the employee from the senior citizen <br />service board to arrange a more efficient use of the monies for transportation. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot asked the City Manager to follow through with energy assistance allocation <br />through the county. She is pleased that we can continue to provide medical <br />transportation. Ms. Brot would like to see staff begin to work with the person arranging <br />the senior transportation. She would like to see that this fund be best utilized to stretch <br />the money. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved to approve the budget transfer, seconded by Mr. Glickert and was <br />passed by a majority with one Nay vote from Ms. Ricci. Ms. Ricci explained that she <br />had to vote Nay because of the very little knowledge she has on the City’s budget at <br />this point <br /> <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Sharon Lofton, Mt. Gideon <br />Ms. Lofton would like to thank everyone for the proposed funding from the CDBG which <br />the Council has allocated to Mr. Gideon Church to be used to feed the hungry. <br /> <br />Joan Botwinick, 511 Westview <br />Ms. Botwinick thanked everyone for their support of the CDBG. <br /> <br />Mr. Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave. <br />Mr. Dockett thanked Council and City Manager for assistance to the seniors and the <br />hungry. <br /> <br />3. Recreation Fee Philosophy Presentation <br />This was discussed in the study session with Ms. Nancy MacCartney, Departments <br />of Parks & Recreation Director, giving a power point presentation. Council asked if <br />Ms. MacCartney would send them a hard copy of her presentation. <br /> <br />4. Confirmation of Council Retreat <br />Ms. Feier confirmed that the Council’s retreat would be October 31, 10:30a.m. – <br />5:30p.m, facilitated by Mr. Val Marmillion. <br /> <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Mr. Wagner moved to introduce Substitute 2 of Bill 8895 <br />1. BILL 8895 <br />— AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 12 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNCIPAL CODE, RELATING TO STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND PUBLIC <br />PLACES, BY REPEALING CHAPTER 12.08 THEREOF, RELATING TO STREET <br />TREES AND SHRUBS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW CHAPTER <br />TO BE KNOWN AS “CHAPTER 12.08 TREES AND SHRUBS,” THEREBY <br />AMENDING SAID CHAPTER SO AS TO ESTABLISH NEW REGULATIONS ON <br />TREES AND SHRUBS, ON BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PROPERTY; AND BY <br />AMENDING THE HEADING TO TITLE 12 SO THAT IT SHALL BE KNOWN AS <br />“TITLE 12 STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND PUBLIC PLACES, AND TREES AND <br />SHRUBS;” CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALY. <br /> <br /> <br />
