Session 1658, Minutes
January 22, 1996

Page 2

Mr. Cotton arrived at this time.

CITY MANAGEWS REPORTS

Mayor Adams asked that Consent Calendar Item #1 be removed and considered separately.

CONSENT CALENDAR (THREE ITEMS)

Disk Upgrade Units (#2). Bids to provide a used disk-to-tape storage unit for the Police Depart-
ment's network were received as follows:

Newport Leasing
Star Data Systems
Information Systems

$13,550.00
$11,750.00
$ 8,950.00

This purchase was budgeted at $10,000. Acceptance of Information Systems' quotation of $8,950.00
was recommended.

Tree and Sidewalk Removal, Grading. and Restoration in Janet Majerus Park (bond issue) (#3). Bids
for tree and sidewalk removal, grading, and restoration along Raymond Avenue in Janet Majerus Park
were sent to 10 companies, with the following response:

L. Krupp Construction
AbeIn Excavation

$8,700
$8,380

No female or minority bids were received. Bond issue estimate was $8,800. Although AbeIn has the
lower bid, they did not bid the finish grading portion of the specifications, a major part of the job.
The recommendation is to accept Li Krupp Construction's bid of $8,700.

Purchase of Forklife for Recycling Facility (//4). Bids for providing a forklift vehicle for the recycling
operation were sent to five companies, with the following results:

Company
Connell Co. (Komatsu)
A.D. Lift Truck (TCM)
Wiese (Caterpillar)

DeliveryTime Price
6-8weeks $21,847
? $21,499
One week $22,485

Acceptance of the Weise bid of $22,485 was recommended, as the low bid does not meet specifica-
tions nor include shipping cost or delivery date. Wiese is a University City business with the shortest
delivery time and highest proven quality vehicle.

Mr. Wagner moved approval of the Consent Calendar. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which
carded unanimously.
