Bids to provide a used disk-to-tape storage unit for the Police Depart- <br />ment's network were received as follows: <br /> <br />Newport Leasing <br />Star Data Systems <br />Information Systems <br /> <br />$13,550.00 <br />$11,750.00 <br />$ 8,950.00 <br /> <br />This purchase was budgeted at $10,000. Acceptance of Information Systems' quotation of $8,950.00 <br />was recommended. <br /> <br />Tree and Sidewalk Removal, Grading. and Restoration in Janet Majerus Park (bond issue) (#3). Bids <br />for tree and sidewalk removal, grading, and restoration along Raymond Avenue in Janet Majerus Park <br />were sent to 10 companies, with the following response: <br /> <br />L. Krupp Construction <br />AbeIn Excavation <br /> <br />$8,700 <br />$8,380 <br /> <br />No female or minority bids were received. Bond issue estimate was $8,800. Although AbeIn has the <br />lower bid, they did not bid the finish grading portion of the specifications, a major part of the job. <br />The recommendation is to accept Li Krupp Construction's bid of $8,700. <br /> <br />Purchase of Forklife for Recycling Facility (//4). Bids for providing a forklift vehicle for the recycling <br />operation were sent to five companies, with the following results: <br /> <br /> Company <br />Connell Co. (Komatsu) <br />A.D. Lift Truck (TCM) <br />Wiese (Caterpillar) <br /> <br />DeliveryTime Price <br /> 6-8weeks $21,847 <br /> ? $21,499 <br /> One week $22,485 <br /> <br />Acceptance of the Weise bid of $22,485 was recommended, as the low bid does not meet specifica- <br />tions nor include shipping cost or delivery date. Wiese is a University City business with the shortest <br />delivery time and highest proven quality vehicle. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the Consent Calendar. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which <br />carded unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
