Introduced by Mr. Glickert BILL 8919 3. — AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, RELATING TO ZONING DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO SECTION 34-22 THEREOF, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW OFFICIAL ZONING MAP, THEREBY AMENDING SAID MAP SO AS TO CHANGE THE CLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTY AT 7745 OLIVE (REAR PORTION OF LOT) FROM "SR" - SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT, TO "GC" - GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. CITIZEN COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS An University City citizen living at 1058 Groby by the name of Ann said she did not see anything appealing on Olive Blvd to bring people to University City. She stated that there isn’t any variety in businesses along Olive. COUNCIL COMMENTS Mr. Sharpe, Jr., asked Mayor Adams when there could be more discussion on bills being introduced. Mayor Adams explained that discussion can take place from time of introduction until the final reading of the bill. Ms. Brot had a question on the rezoning of 7745 Olive. She hoped in future redevelopment the parking would be placed in of the rear of the establishment instead of in the front. Also, she wanted to be sure that additional landscaping be planned as part of the beautification of the redevelopment area since the parking lot is facing Olive. Moreover, she emphasized the need for ample landscaping to separate the parking lot from the residential neighborhood. Ms. Brot asked the Council to mark their calendar for February 17, 2007, to attend the Big Read event when participants from UCHS and their parents will be having a pizza lunch. She would appreciate councilmembers helping her with the planning of the second part of the program which would include a tour of the City Hall, followed by the students and the parents attending a Council meeting on February 26, 2007. Mayor Adams said that in conjunction with the landscaping mentioned for 7745 Olive that it also needs to be stated that the business owners must maintain this landscaping. 5
