CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. <br />Conditional Use Permit (C.U.P.) application for 6277 Delmar Blvd, Aboud Alhamid <br />with Ranoush Nights in CC- Core Commercial District. <br />Mr. Kraft move for approval of the C.U.P., was seconded by Mr. Crow and carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />2. <br />Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program 2012 for the Police <br />Department. <br />Mr. Crow asked if it was all grant funded and the answer was yes. <br /> <br />Mr. Price move to approve the grant program, was seconded by Mr. Sharpe and carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />3. <br />Security cameras in the Loop – Provision and Installation. Will Electronics was <br />recommended for the installation of the surveillance system for $124,488. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft moved for approval and was seconded by Mr. Crow. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow asked how Will Electronics was chosen over the low bidder. It was <br />explained that a committee with the consultant for the project deemed they were the <br />best in comparison to what was asked for by the City. The funding came from the <br />Economic Development Retail Sales Tax. <br /> <br />The vote on the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. <br />Security cameras in the Loop – Construction Inspection Services. Facilities Control <br />System associated with the security cameras in the Loop was recommended for <br />$14,966. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow moved for approval, was seconded by Mr. Kraft and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />5. <br />Capital Improvement Project (C.I.P.) for replacing a 21 year old unit. <br />Recommendation was to purchase a Bauer Breathing Air Compressor, from Banner <br />Fire Equipment for $47,595. <br /> <br /> <br />Fire Chief Don Miner spoke on the need to replace a 21-year old unit. He noted that <br />he listed the price wrong and it should have been $45,849. He stated that this <br />amount was in the Capital Improvement Budget, CIP. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow moved for approval, was seconded by Mr. Kraft and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. <br />Sidewalk and curb replacement project. Staff recommended C & K Contracting as <br />the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder for $185,750. <br />3 <br /> <br />
