Mr. Cottc~ asked for a definition of offJoe spaoe. <br /> <br />Mr. A1 Goldman, Director of Planning, said the hair salon was the first busi- <br />ness to apply for oocupancy in the renovated building, but tb~ Zoning Admin- <br />istrator realized that if another such use went in or salon uses expanded, <br /> <br />to allc~ more retail servioes or sales and to limit the rest of tb~ building <br />to office use. ~ to Mr. Cotton, Mr. Goldman said the agreement was <br />not in writing, and it was a tenant, not the owner, who was trying to expand <br />services. Mr. Cotton said he did not see much difference between dentist of- <br /> <br />Mr. Schocm~r said the parking pzuble~s at this location are too great to al- <br />lc~ expanded uses, and he moved d~_nial. Mrs. Schuman seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mrs. Thcm~son said she visited the salon and fcund it a worthy addition to <br />the c~,,L~nity. Although the propertywill be re- <br />moved fk-~ the tax rolls, the proposed use meets all City ordinances. Ap- <br />p~valwas reomm~ndedwitht]~e following conditions: <br /> <br />1. All signs should be in strict compliance with tb~ University City Sign <br /> COde. <br />2. No mer=hand/se should be sold or displayed out of doors. <br />3. The store front shculd be remodeled to provide windows that are adequate <br /> to provide police surveillance of the interior or private security forces <br /> should be e~.nloyed at all times the store is occupied. <br /> <br />In response to ~rs. Schuman, Ms. ~k-~-~ly said the property was owned by <br />University City Children's Center. Mrs. Schuman noted that the current Miri- <br />am Shop has cutdoor sales, and she did not want that to happen at the Olive <br />location. <br /> <br /> <br />
