A St. Louis CDunty C~.m~- nity Develc~ re~x~tative related that in all likelihood, the $271,295 amount will be granted, ~, they have requested that the City approve programs for both allocations and subnit applications using both amounts. Mr. Ollendorff said both amounts go for police o--~nity relations work over and above usual po- lice activities, i.e., neighborhood meetings where crime prevention is dis- cussed. Mrs. Thompson said $2,000 for the northeast area was not enough. Mrs. Shirley Ric~m~n, 840 Oakbrook Lane, thanked Council for its past support of the Cumm~nity in Partnership Family Shelter, and for current support in the C~t,~unity Develo~ budget. She said a new program called C/Sta~ has begun, which is a drug treatment and rehabilitation service for residents and non-residents, a~d the allocation will help in this effort. Mrs. Joan Botwinick, 511 Westview, agreed with Mrs. ~nompson's c~m,~nts re- garding additiomal funding for Northeast Police. She said she was pleased with the positive c~ in the Hc~e Improvement Program, noting that the waitin~ i/st was reduced from 40 to 11 families. She a:~ked_ that $15,000 be allocated to this program in the ccmting year. Mayor Majerus reminded Council that it is possible to change allocations at a later date, if desired.
