Mr. Ollendorff said <br />both amounts go for police o--~nity relations work over and above usual po- <br />lice activities, i.e., neighborhood meetings where crime prevention is dis- <br />cussed. Mrs. Thompson said $2,000 for the northeast area was not enough. <br /> <br />Mrs. Shirley Ric~m~n, 840 Oakbrook Lane, thanked Council for its past support <br />of the Cumm~nity in Partnership Family Shelter, and for current support in <br />the C~t,~unity Develo~ budget. She said a new program called C/Sta~ has <br />begun, which is a drug treatment and rehabilitation service for residents and <br />non-residents, a~d the allocation will help in this effort. <br /> <br />Mrs. Joan Botwinick, 511 Westview, agreed with Mrs. ~nompson's c~m,~nts re- <br />garding additiomal funding for Northeast Police. She said she was pleased <br />with the positive c~ in the Hc~e Improvement Program, noting that the <br />waitin~ i/st was reduced from 40 to 11 families. She a:~ked_ that $15,000 be <br />allocated to this program in the ccmting year. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus reminded Council that it is possible to change allocations at <br />a later date, if desired. <br /> <br /> <br />
