Mrs. Schuman <br />said a 25% increase in tennis fees we~t into effect during the current year, <br />and she objected to another increase so soon. Mr. Ollendorff said only the <br />fees going into effect in the near future (i.e., Natatorium, Community Oen- <br /> <br />Mrs. Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel, suggested that the frequent increases in <br />swimming pool fees has made the pool less "user-fri~y." She c~ the <br />rates from six years ago with current rates, noting the cost in several cate- <br /> <br />poeitively and a public hearing held so frequent users could ~ake <br />tions. She asked if there are to be increases each year, and Mayor Majerus <br />said Oouncil has directed tb~ Park C~a,~.~ion to review fees yearly and rec- <br />ommend adjustments, if needed. Mrs. Glickert suggested that a notice he put <br />in the newspapers when that discussion is scheduled. Mayor Majerus said <br />Council will take that under advisement. <br /> <br />Mr. Jc~n McDonnell, 519 Westview Drive, agreed with Mrs. Glickert and ask~ed_ <br />Oouncil to withhold action on fee increases so further discussion can take <br />place. He als~ suggested that tb~ attributes of tb~ parks syste~ and partic- <br />ularly the pool should be publicized more. <br /> <br />Mr. ~ams said it would be necessary to approve fees for the Natatorium and <br />Heman pool at tb~ same time, otherwise, there would be confusion. Mr. Wagner <br />disagreed and moved approval of the new fees for the Natatorium and Community <br /> <br />Mr. Adams then moved approval of the new fees for tb~ Community Center. Mrs. <br />Schuman seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman moved approval of the new fees for Ruth Park Golf Course. Mrs. <br />T~ secor~ed, and all voted Aye exoept Mr. Wagner, who voted Nay. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman thought the Park Cc~.~ion had been sensitive to complaints re- <br />garding the increases, noting none was recommended for individual permits, ID <br />cards or daily fees. She also noted pool users may attend Park C~u~ission <br />meetings at ar~ time ar~ ask to be heard on fees, ways of making facilities <br />more user friendly, etc. She moved approval of the fee structure for ~man <br />Pool and the Natatorium. Mr. Adams seconded the motion.
