Session 1697, Minutes <br />May 19, 1997 <br /> <br />Mayor Adams queried Council's pleasure regarding approving the resolution. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION. PUBLIC WORKS WEEK: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams proclaimed that the week starting May 18th and ending May 24th would be Public <br />Works Week. <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE: <br /> <br />The following new or reappointed members of the City's boards or commissions were given the oath of <br />office by the City Clerk: Ms. Eleanor Ruder of COMPONERE to the Loop Special Business District <br />Advisory Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams wished to express his sincere thanks to Ms. Ruder for her wish to serve on this important <br />commission. The efforts of all citizens serving on the City's boards and commissions truly help the City <br />to function, as well as being an invaluable resource to the City Council. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S AGENDA: <br /> <br />Agenda # 1: CONSENT CALENDAR ( 10 ITEMS) <br /> <br /># i - Picnic Liquor License - 524 Trinity: The City Manager recommends approval of a picnic liquor <br />license by the glass at a Privacy Rights Education Proiect event at COCA, 524 Trinity on June 14th. All <br />requirements have been met and no problems have been reported from previous liquor licenses at this <br />location. <br /> <br />#2 - Traffic Safety Grant: The City Manager requests authorization to apply for a law enforcement <br />traffic service grant in the amount of $75,000 from the Missouri Division of Highway Safety to fund <br />two police officers and a vehicle which would be dedicated to traffic safety through enforcement of laws <br />regarding hazardous driving. The City would assume responsibility for all operating costs, fringe <br />benefits, supervision and administration as well as promising to work diligently to continue this effort in <br />the future. <br /> <br />#3 - Refuse Dumpster Parts: The City Manager recommends purchasing replacement parts for alley <br />dumpsters from Waste Systems, the only vendor supplying the parts which fit our containers. The <br />prices are in line with original purchase costs. The total expense is $6,149.10. <br /> <br />#4 - Vacation Heman at Delmar - Public Hearing: The City Manager recommends setting June 9, at <br />7:30 p.m. in these Council Chambers as the time and place for a public hearing on his proposal to <br />vacate 50 feet of the Heman Avenue right-of-way lying under the Market Plaza. The two adjacent <br />property owners will be notified of this hearing. <br /> <br />#5 - 1997-98 Annual Order for Concrete Products: Bids for furnishing concrete products have been <br />received including various types of sands and cements: <br /> <br />Raineri Redi Mix $7.617.00 (Seven no bid items) <br /> <br /> <br />
