<br /> <br />Mr. Glickert said he agreed with Mr. Kraft and noted that in June the Council voted <br />to approve this budget line item. He again said that Council needed to get together <br />for a Strategic Planning Session in order to put together their wants, needs and <br />their vision for the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow and Mr. Glickert stated the vote was just to use Brighton and would be <br />contingent on Council’s approved usage. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked. Sawyer to confirm that the $125 an hour rate would be the <br />same for any service rendered. Ms. Sawyer stated yes the company was using a <br />blended rate. The Mayor also asked to clarify that this approval was just for the <br />contract to engage their services not an approval of how the funds would be used. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker agreed. He stated no money has been spent and suggested Council <br />approve Brighton; come up with some objectives; and then return this to Council for <br />a final approval of a contract. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow asked if the City had spent one hundred thousand dollars with Avant. Mr. <br />Walker said yes, but that was a flat fee not an hourly rate. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked Mr. Glickert if he would like to withdraw his motion and Mr. <br />Glickert said no. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked Council if they were comfortable with Mr. Walker working out <br />a contract with the Brighton Agency after hearing from members of Council about <br />their priorities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kraft was not sure what they were voting on as the original motion <br />was made by Mr. Glickert. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated that Council was voting on whether or not to proceed with <br />Brighton. <br /> <br />Mr. Price “Called the Question” on Mr. Glickert’s motion. Mr. Glickert previously <br />moved to approve Brighton as the City’s Marketing and Public Communication <br />Service and was second by Mr. Kraft. <br /> <br />Roll call vote was: <br />Ayes: Mr. Kraft, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Welsch <br />Nays: Mr. Crow, Mr. Price, Ms. Carr <br /> <br />Approval of Brighton as the City’s Public Relation Firm was approved by the <br />majority. <br /> <br />L.
